Romantic 11 night get away with sun, sea, sand & alcohol......what more can you want!

Dominican Republic we found very similar to Mexico except Mexico is more partying, Dominican isn't. We stayed in the Royalton in Punta Cana, we paid a bit extra for the diamond club and it was definitely worth it. We had our very own swim up room, own sun loungers and bed area, own butler etc to take drink requests get ice etc and being apart of it you don't have to pre book meals you could just turn up. It was brilliant highly recommend it.

Even if you don't do the diamond club the hotel was gorgeous enough, plenty of pools, a gym, casinos, entertainment, water games, restaurants and bars and more. We seen a few weddings while we were there too and it's right on the beach if you fancy going swimming in the sea too.

Things we did:

- Coco Bongos. Hang been open as long as the Mexico one and it isn't as big but it's still brilliant and a good night out.

- Helicopter. We did a helicopter tour over Punta Cana I didn't realise how many golf courses there were before but from the air you also get to see the beautiful heart shaped islands in the sea. When you do the helicopter make sure you double check we paid for 25 mins and couple paid for 15 minutes and they tried to put us together so we complained and then they gave us our own helicopter. I wonder how many other people they do this too though.

- Sand Dune Buggys. These were brilliant but take old clothes and old sun glasses we ended up throwing them all away they got that dirty and it's so hard to see through your glasses but highly worth it.

- Jungle Safari. We booked a jungle safari tour there through Thomson. You got to visit schools and local houses, we got to try sugar canes, local coffee, how to make cigarettes, seen different local animals including crocodiles and more. It was brilliant.

- Water surf boarding. Well we tried too ha.

We also went to Hard Rock Cafe here as Alex collects the shirts. However they don't recommend you leave your hotel complex due to safety fears so the hotel sorted a taxi to take us there and back which was good. The hard rock was in a shopping mall it was huge but empty it even had Michael Kors and Hugo Boss in and all the things there were so cheap too, so if you like to shop I'd go there too.

Dominican Republic was the perfect relaxing romantic holiday we needed, definitely recommend to couples or family's but if you want night life with friends I'd suggest Mexico. However we still loved it here, bye Dominican.....
