After Flying from Manchester to Chicago and saying goodbye to our family for the first 3 months of family, its actually quite hard saying bye when you go on holiday you don't think of it but going away that long is actually hard.

Well we stayed our first 4 days in the lovely Chicago doing some exploring. We went shopping to Hard Rock Cafe of course, then we did a tour of the crimes of Chicago, alot about Al Capone and visiting all the speakeasies. As well as a boat tour from the pier to go around Chicago and visiting the John Hancock tower and more Chicago was beautiful.

We also managed to fit in a baseball game, we went to see the Chicago Cubs. We actually really enjoyed baseball wish we played this at home like our version of rounders but bigger.

The only bit we didnt like was when we finally picked up our car and had to drive on the wrong side of the car and on the wrong side of the road. Ray did the honour of driving first for us and was perfect......when it came to Alex's turn driving when we got to Springfield the first thing she did was go on the wrong side of the road haha.

The photo above is our first car for Route 66 our 4x4 KIA. Shes beautiful.

We spent a night in Springfield, which apparantly the Simpsons arent even from gutted. Springfield was a beautiful quiet little town which was the home of Abraham Lincoln, we got to go visit his house and see other important parts from his life and time.

Today we spent the day visiting Route 66 stuff on our way to St Louis. We visited the beautiful old chain of rocks bridge which I would highly recommend as its beautiful. Unfortunately though the bridge car park is closed and they advise you not to walk over it as so many cars have been getting stolen so we took it in turns to stay in the car and run to the bridge to look and have photos.

Now we have arrived for a evening exploring St Louis. Bye for now.....Route 66 is now underway.....
